For the record

Sunday’s sort of a blogging day for me. If you haven’t noticed.

This week was good. Lots of snow, sledding and shoveling and lounging and reading. I read two books in two days!

Last Sunday church was canceled because of snow, so—definitely day of rest!

Today, I woke up way too early (kinda tough going from 12:30 church slot to 8:30) BUT, we had church in the morning during which I had to put out zero fires and chase zero kids, came home and ate lunch, went to DC to pay our respects to Dr. King at his memorial downtown (it was FAH—REEZING, but lots of people were there) (also just for the record, Matt and I were both grumpy in the car, sorry kids)

I love this memorial.

We came home and had a little family meeting/discussion, then had dinner which Matt had made, played a game without fighting, cleaned up the kitchen and then everyone retreated to zone out in their own ways.

Theo and Matt have started taking over the TV on Sunday nights now that NFL championship season is heating up. Lars doesn’t care about football so he’s watching Netflix on the couch next to them.

Polly and Ida don’t care about football either so they’re watching Harry Potter on this portable DVD player. Because kids don’t mind watching big movies on a tiny screen.

Also why are they in summer pajamas. It is FAH—REEZING.

I’m happily alone upstairs, and it’s been simultaneously the busiest AND the most restful Sunday we’ve had in awhile. TWO-HOUR CHURCH. Amen to that!
