He invited his two best preschool friends over for a little party on Friday. They played with nerf guns and we walked over to the park.
And then we had cake. Lars was so excited to plan his little party. We went to Trader Joe's the day before and he picked everything out: lemon cake, vanilla ice cream, strawberry yogurt, sparkling apple cider, and grapes.
He also chose to eat dinner at Noodles that night. Shocking!
His actual birthday was Sunday. After church we rode our bikes to the park.
After that another family came over to help us celebrate. Lars chose tortellini for dinner (we supplemented with grownup slightly healthier food) and his other request was that he not have to eat his vegetables. Fair enough.
For dessert we had a donut cake, aka a pile of donuts with candles on top.
He got a Buzz Lightyear, as well as night-vision goggles, swim goggles, a bubble machine, Toy Story 3, a cute board game, and a watering can.
Man, it's good to be 5!
I sure love this kid. Don't know how I'll handle sending him off to kindergarten in September.
