I like looking back at old blog posts when I used to take nice pictures with my nice camera and it captured a pretty little slice of life when I had one or two very tiny kids. Now I take blurry photos with my phone that capture a pretty little slice of life when I have three very rambunctious kids. Who got ice cream cones on a freezing cold day because they all just got flu shots.
Remember Larsy's baby curls? This picture (above) was in October. His curls turned into big-kid hair, borderline Charlie Bucket hair like Theo's. So now I have to keep his hair shorter. Saddies. It's still curlyish in front.
Also he recently started saying his "Rs" correctly. Like "car" instead of "caw," or "sister" instead of "sistow." If it weren't for the fact that he still wears diapers (refuses even to talk about wearing underwear) and sneaks binkies all over the house, I'd think he was turning into a big kid for real.
Our new favorite story about Lars was a few weeks ago when a bad stomach flu hit both Matt and me. One afternoon Lars got down Cheerios and milk, a bowl and spoon, then poured himself a bowl of cereal to eat for lunch. (this is actually quite a frequent occurrence and he usually spills all over the place. He either got lucky or is getting better with practice) He ate the cereal, put his bowl and spoon in the sink, found a binky, and then crawled into his bed for a nap. Parents, who needs 'em?

Love your little "slices of life!" Hope we hang onto our 80 degree weather for you!
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with Lars' skills. And glad that other kids have them besides mine!
