Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow, you're always 5 years away. Sing with me now! Toooomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow, you're always 10 years away!
When Theo was a few days old, my mom mentioned that I might want to look into local preschools and see if there was a waiting list. Whaaa--? I laughed that one off. Then the funniest thing happened. I went to bed that night as usual. I woke up the next morning at 7 a.m. and it was dark and quiet. I went into Theo's room, hugged him and said good morning, then told him to get up and get in the shower. He took a shower, got dressed, and ate breakfast, and then I walked with him across the street for his first day of kindergarten.
Yeah, it's like all the old people tell you--five and a half years somehow happened overnight.
Because our district has full-day kindergarten, I'm not picking him up until 3 p.m.
3 p.m.!
3 p.m.!
I guess I should go to bed at a decent hour tonight since I'll have to wake Theo up at 5 a.m. for seminary tomorrow.
I live this post. Perfect perfect perfect. Isn't it just . . . Wild?
ReplyDeleteLove it! Happy first day of school, Theo!
ReplyDeleteAmen.... I'm waking my #1 up for seminary tomorrow and can not believe he will be walking the halls of high school as well. That's what we get for blinking, right?
ReplyDeleteWild. That about sums it up. At least you're not one of those old people yet. That won't happen until tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSeriously.
ReplyDeleteSo true! He is so cute. I loved all day Kindergarten even though I didn't think I would.
ReplyDeleteAnd then the next morning he will be leaving on his mission.
ReplyDeleteNot to panic you or anything.
Aww I love these pictures. I showed Rodger and he couldnt believe how big theo was. It seems like just yesterday that I flew out there to see him. He better not have kids before me. ;)
ReplyDeleteHahaha, this post made me laugh. It's so true. I sent my 5 year old off to half day kindergarten today. Full day would definitely be even that much more scary (for me). It sure did go by in a flash. Wishing Theo a great first year in Kindergarten!
ReplyDeleteoops, sorry. I didn't realize Jonathon was signed on under Google...This was Matti. ;-)

ReplyDeleteSo true. When they are waking up 5 times a night and won't stop crying, it seems to last forever. But, I blinked and Toby is about to turn 18! And Aspen will start dating boys! And Isaac is almost as big as Nate! And Hazel will be baptized next summer. Within the next 5 years, 3 of my 4 children will be graduated, served missions, gone to college, and maybe even married! And I could maybe even be a grandma! (Hoping that waits a bit though.)
ReplyDeleteLive in the moment. They go by in a blink.
Loved the pictures! I still remeber the first day of kindergarten for all my boys. Then I turned around and they were going on missions. Then they got married which was a lot more fun that missions, because I got four great daughters.
ReplyDeleteI was talking with a friend about time going by so quickly, and she said she thought that the longer you live, the more you realize that you have less years left than you did the day before. That was kind of a gloomy thought - but it's probably true!!
ReplyDeleteIt's still true, though, that you ought to live in the moment!!
I hope Theo loved his first day! Agnes was so nervous that it made me nervous, but she came home tired and happy so I guess she will be willing to go back tomorrow:)
ReplyDeletehe doesn't look at all convinced that this is a good idea.
