Thank you to Hannah for these pictures!
We got home on Monday night and have been slowly adjusting to our new life. Fortunately I get a huge break in adjusting because Matt has been home every day this week and my mom arrived yesterday morning and is staying for 3 weeks. Then in July when Matt has High Adventure, my mother-in-law is going to be here for a week. I can't believe my luck.

Theo and Ida are both taking their little brother in stride and are super excited to have him around. It seems like every 5 minutes they run in and wash their hands so they can "touch Lars's hair and toes." (limitations placed by paranoid mom at least for a few more weeks.)
The only hint I have had of possible reluctance was last night when I put Ida to bed and she requested we sing "We Are a Happy Family." I added Lars's name to the verse about the kids and she did not like that. "No, just sing Theo and Ida!" "Okay, okay, we'll try adding Lars another night." I doubt it is an indicator of anything other than the fact that 5 names instead of 4 throws off the cadence of the song.
Welcome home, little buddy!
Don't you love how Eliza is upstairs posting and I'm downstairs commenting!!
ReplyDeleteI'd better get to work and go clean the bathrooms - need to earn my keep or they might send me packing!!
These pictures are so sweet. Tell Theo and Ida I miss them and I can't wait to meet Lars.
ReplyDeleteYou deserve the help Eliza. I hope you have fun! In a newborn phase exhaustion kind of way...
ReplyDeletewhat a cute family!!! reagan loved looking at the pictures with me. she said, "mom, i want to name my baby brother Lars too." Can't wait to meet him in person.
ReplyDeleteI especially like Theo's look of pure adoration. I want to meet Larsy in person too. Maybe one day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post and what a sweet family. So happy for you!
ReplyDelete"Maybe one day"?! Are you headed for permanent exile?!
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks everyone for the nice comments. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen the "Happy Family song is out of cadence add "We love everyone" after the last name to balance things out. I did that after Kristiana was born and now it is permenant with Tabitha.
ReplyDeleteTHESE are BEAUTILFUL pictures! the one of him yawning is my favorite...so cute!
ReplyDeleteSO fun to bring home a new baby! Glad everyone is settling in.
ReplyDeleteLove your hair! Now you've got a balanced house: 2 girls, 2 boys. Theo seems delighted! (and a new bff/bcf for baby Moses!)
ReplyDeleteHahaha! It's been a long day. Thinking about my comment that there's 2 and 2 didn't seem right with a family of 5!
